CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME – 2008

 The UKA is the first and at the moment, the only Knabstrupper association in the UK. Started by Knabstrupper owners for everyone who owns, breeds or simply has an interest in this rare breed of horse we have now been established for 2 years. We have publicly and consistently extended a very warm welcome to anyone who is involved in this breed and that warm welcome stands today and every day.

 Our members range from those who just enjoy looking at their horses in the field, those who are carefully breeding quality Knabstruppers to those who are competing at National level - there is room for everyone in the UKA. We place equal value on all our members and all Knabstrupper horses, whatever their origin, activity or interest.

 The UKA is very aware that people have very different reasons for joining us, ie help with horse registrations, advice about importing or buying a Knabstrupper, advice about training, encouragement and support in preparing for grading presentation and also the chance to meet up with other Knabstrupper owners and see other horses and we are happy to help with all requests to the best of our ability.

 We are an open and democratic association and we place a very high value on the three “C’s” – courtesy, consideration and co-operation in all our dealings. Our association is not about personalities or names but about the wonderful Knabstrupper horse that is the very reason for the UKA’s existence, so if you share these values and would like to join us and be involved in the running of the UKA then please get in contact with any one of the Board members.
