Bridget and Rasco

Rasco is now eight years old but acts like a four year old. He does as people say about dogs take after his owner. So everything is done to wind me up and although we have a very close and loving relationship he does at times push me to the limit… At these times his friends step in and get someone to take me away to re stock my caffeine levels and then return to finish the job.

That aside he has a lovely personality and never ceases to make us all laugh with his entertaining ways.

Rasco can let horses out of fields; he can tip over water containers that have taken hours to fill; he can suck electric fencing with no ill effect; he can destroy a mane and tail on someone’s pride and joy overnight; he can put a bale of shavings down whether you wanted it or not. He kneels like a person; sits down like a dog; plays with his ball and rope; steals all the field head collars and trashes them in the mud, or throws them over the fence, and so far this year has chewed through four lead ropes in the ten seconds I left him unattended.

BUT best of all, when he feels like it, he does a fabulous dressage test for the girl that always hated it; does pole and grid work; show jumps and does X-country… Mind you he does have to be in the mood and is often more interested in the ring next door, so he forgets the test or where the next jump is. One thing is for sure, if Rasco does not want to do or go somewhere then he just doesn’t.

Rasco came from a lovely home and I am forever indebted to them for the education and introduction to life and the world of events he received before he arrived. His talent is obvious and suited to my level,  he knows what he should do and how he should behave and every so often he does so.

Ps 30^th July  Rasco excelled himself with 8 faults before getting beyond the start line…………something in the judges box fascinated him and once he was happy he went on to jump all the fences clear which noone else did , but the damage was done!
